Visiting your Doctor

Medical Centre Opening Hours

Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm.
Closed Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Appointment System

Mount Merrion Medical Centre operates an “appointment only” system. To obtain an appointment please contact our reception staff at 01 2881297. Every effort is made to ensure you are seen as soon as possible and all genuine urgent requests are dealt with promptly. It is the Practice policy to accommodate all sick children on the same day/ASAP. Any information you can provide on the nature of your consultation will help the receptionist expedite your visit as some requests (e.g. a repeat prescription) may not require a consultation.

House Calls

Where possible we encourage patients to attend the surgery. House calls are exclusively for those who are too ill to travel to the surgery. Most problems are best dealt with in the surgery where we have all necessary medical equipment. If however you need a doctor to call to your home please try to phone the surgery before 11.00 and give a brief outline of the nature of your illness so that we can arrange a visit if appropriate.

Out of Hours GP Service

The Mount Merrion Medical Centre provides a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year service. Out of hours service is provided by our local co-op - EastDoc - which is located on the campus of Saint Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin 4 and by the deputising service Doctor On Duty. EastDoc is the preferred out of hours service.
